When I painted Way Over Yonder, I was drawn to the view from a recent trip to Tuscany—that quiet, expansive moment just before sunset, the sky glowing a brilliant blue as the sun begins its slow descent. Thick, swirling clouds stretch across the canvas while lush green grass anchors the foreground, full of life and possibility. There’s a sense of distance in this piece, of something just beyond reach.
It reminds me that big ideas often feel that way—way over yonder, just out on the horizon. But with time, persistence and belief, they arrive in ways more beautiful than we imagined. I think of the many hours and days poured into building Women Who Mean Business, while watching graduates take bold leaps in their careers and businesses. What once felt far away is now here with real results that are deeply rewarding.
