When I painted True Blue, I was drawn to the endless conversation between sky and sea. The brilliant blue of the ocean mirrored in the sky above, with soft blushes of pink coral rising from the water and reflecting gently onto the clouds. There’s something magical about those moments at the beach, where color seems to dance in every direction and the horizon invites your mind to wander.
For me, time at the beach is more than relaxation—it’s a place to escape, to dream and to let new ideas quietly wash ashore. Though True Blue is a small painting, just 4 x 4 inches, the waves seem to engulf the viewer, expanding far beyond the canvas until they feel as vast and powerful as the deep blue ocean itself. It’s such a bold little piece that it deserved an equally grand frame.
And if you listen very carefully, you might just hear the rhythmic sound of the waves rolling back and forth, a timeless reminder to pause and take in the beauty all around us.
