I love this theme because it considers the gift receiver and what they might enjoy as they relax and take in a beautiful sunset. This example is for friends who I know enjoy good margaritas, but the central theme could be gourmet coffees, teas or hot cocoa. I love to browse Goodwill and thrift Stores that fund a good cause, such as Family Crisis Centers or Women’s Shelters. You can find broken sets of fine china and home accessories for next to nothing, and every penny helps those in need.

Shop for small dishes perfect for soaps for a guest room or kitchen
Add a bar of soap; I buy them in bulk in soothing fragrances like lavender, vanilla or citrus.
Layer with a set of my Hill Country Notecards
For colleagues or peers, add an autographed copy of my book, Cowgirl Power
For fashionistas, include a Silk Scarf for a Good Cause, funding a student scholarship

An Antique Touch

Estate sales and flea markets are full of luxurious home accessories that can complement anyone’s style or statement pieces purely for fun. It is not only a fascinating historical journey but also repurposes treasures that might otherwise be forgotten. Tuck these away for last-minute invites or for a head start on the gift-giving season.

Elaborate candle holders or votive candle holders can be cleaned and paired with new candles. I buy candles in bulk at home stores.
Antique vases (china, blown-glass or crystal) with a fresh boutique of flowers. I arrange them myself or use homegrown flowers from my garden. It makes ordinary flowers special.
Every estate sale has picture frames and sometimes they can be quite exquisite. Add a photo from a past celebration with your gift recipient or handwrite an inspirational quote or sentiment that’s unique to the receiver.
