THE ART OF GAY GADDIS

Inside a Buyer’s Home

Buyers Home Newsletter

Triptych Sky, three large canvases paired together to complete a picture, bursting with bold purples, pinks and deep blues—found its perfect home with a collector from Houston who first discovered it during an event at our Fossil Ridge Art Gallery. She fell in love immediately, then paused and said something I hear often: “My home doesn’t have a speck of pink or purple.” It’s a common hesitation, an idea that art has to match our furnishings. But when she later shared a photo of the piece installed in her home, I was overwhelmed with joy. The neutral tones of her space became the perfect backdrop, allowing the colors to come alive and the skyscape to practically leap off the wall.

Buying art is deeply personal, and it shouldn’t be limited by “matchy-matchy” thinking. When a piece speaks to you, that connection matters most. Bring it into your space and place it where you’ll experience it every day. After all, art captures emotion and story, and it deserves to be seen and felt, not tucked away.

A carousel of photos of my work in buyers’ homes is featured at the bottom of my collections page. I enjoy browsing these snapshots to see how my paintings are woven into their personal lives and become part of their family.
