As a former Texas Monthly staffer, I have to give a nod to the area’s legendary BBQ, and one of the best in our own backyard is Stiles Switch BBQ & Brew. It’s run by good people serving up the Texas trilogy of ribs, sausage and brisket.

I love kayaking on Lady Bird Lake and then stopping by an Austin food truck somewhere downtown for lunch! I especially love Tex-Mex and Fresa’s Chicken al Carbon is a favorite date night pick.

I love “Glory Hallelujah” from the Vistas collection because it reminds me of how I felt when I first experienced Texas sunsets after moving to Austin from Seattle.
Pets
I have a Ragdoll kitty with beautiful blue eyes named Penelope (we call her Nellie). She cannot resist an empty lap. She’s also a fan of walking on my keyboard while I’m trying to work.
