The view from my ranch in the Texas Hill Country seems vast and endless, which is another reason why the Pomodoro Technique is particularly helpful. But on rare occasions, Mother Nature reminds me how small the world is and how we are connected.
One late afternoon over the summer, I noticed an unusual haze over the sky. It was blazing hot outside, as if smoke engulfed the earth. As I grabbed my canvas and paints, I turned on the news to confirm what I suspected: a Saharan dust storm blowing in. I talked about this natural phenomenon and the mysteriously beautiful painting that resulted from it in a recent social media video (watch here).
Featured painting: Smoking Hot, 24×20 inches, framed acrylic on canvas, $2,400.
