I walk a ton at the ranch. It keeps me and the dogs fit and acts as an exploratory study for future paintings. One evening, I decided to take our evening walk later than usual to avoid the heat. As the darkness crept in, the sky lit up with splendor leaving no other possible name for this painting than “Mystic Mile.” I practically skipped back to my studio, wide-eyed and eager to get to work.
