I almost always listen to music when I paint. It opens up my mind and sets the mood for most of my work. In fact, I’ve created a playlist on Spotify called “My Eclectic 50” that often inspires my creativity.
One evening, while painting a breathtaking sunset, I was listening to an old tune by Judy Collins. With its western guitar and heartfelt lyrics, the song tells the story of a young woman in love with a wild rodeo man who has captured her heart. This song moved me so much that I named this painting “Someday Soon, Going With Him” after a lyric in the song. Just like the love-struck young woman in the song, this particular sunset swept me away into a different world.
