Riding Toward What’s Next

We Ride at Dawn blog

We Ride at Dawn is a painting born from my love of bold beginnings and brave hearts. The sky bursts with deep blues, rich purples, vibrant pinks and reds, with a flash of shocking orange as the sun breaks the horizon. Those first moments of day are electric—full of promise, possibility and purpose. I wanted the colors to feel alive, as if the landscape itself is waking up and urging us forward.

As I painted, I kept visualizing the trailblazers of old western films—weathered vaqueros saddling up before first light, preparing for a mission that demanded grit, courage and resolve. You can almost hear the leather creak and the soft hush of boots on dusty ground. I imagine those riders had plenty of feathers in their caps, earned through hard work, bravery and countless victories.

To me, this painting is a reminder that every new day offers another chance to earn a feather—and to ride forward with confidence, purpose and heart.
