Dark clouds gather across the night sky in this painting, creating a sense of drama and anticipation. But tucked inside that darkness is the promise of something good. Lightning can be frightening, especially when you are standing out on the ranch, but to a rancher, it can also mean something we desperately need: rain.
I love that contrast—the storm and the hope that comes with it. Much like the leadership lessons I write about, sometimes what looks dark or uncertain can carry the beginnings of something very valuable. Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining is my reminder to look beyond the storm and appreciate the possibility waiting on the other side.
