There are seasons when the land seems to breathe a little deeper, bursting with color and life in ways that make you stop and take notice. This painting was inspired by one of those extraordinary springs, when generous rains transformed the ranch into a sea of lush green grass, trees dressed in full leaf and shrubs overflowing with new growth. A golden sun breaks through the landscape, illuminating every corner and reminding me that nature has a remarkable way of rewarding patience.
As I look at this piece today, I’m struck by how closely it mirrors what I see outside my window. Even in the heart of summer, with scorching temperatures, the ranch is still vibrant and green. Normally by this time of year, the grass has turned brown, the roads are dusty and the relentless sun has taken its toll. But this year has been different. The abundant rains have left Double Heart Ranch overflowing with life and color, making it feel as though spring simply decided to linger a little longer.
That’s why I wanted to share Double Heart Pastures. It celebrates not only the beauty of one unforgettable season but also the gift of witnessing that same beauty return when you least expect it.
