Painting is serious business, especially when I’m putting the final touches on an important piece for a client. However, I like to have fun when I paint.
Some of you may remember “The Pink Panther,” a series of comedy-mystery films from the 1960s centered around an inept French police detective, Inspector Jacques Clouseau, famously played by Peter Sellers. The theme song by Henry Mancini, which I have on vinyl and may be just as popular as the films, played in the background as I painted this gem of a painting. Just like the antagonists in the “Pink Panther” films, this particular skyscape has been sneaky, requiring numerous sessions after some time and thought. However, it finally came together into this shockingly sweet painting perched on a delicate, golden easel.
